Leamington's Remembrance service is about 10.50am on Sunday 8 November at Euston Place, with roads shut 6am to 1pm. Warwick, Kenilworth and Whitnash too.
Remembrance Sunday 2026 is Sunday 8 November. In Leamington the service at the War Memorial on Euston Place starts at about 10.50am, and roads around the Parade close from 6am to 1pm. Warwick District Council has now published the times and road closures for all four of the district’s main services, and they are below.
Updated 3 October: the council has published this year’s times and road closures for Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth and Whitnash, replacing the 2025 order this page carried until now.
Remembrance Sunday is the second Sunday in November, and 1 November 2026 is itself a Sunday, so this year it falls on the 8th. Armistice Day is Wednesday 11 November.
Leamington: Euston Place, about 10.50am
From Warwick District Council’s event page: the parade forms up at the junction of Regent Street and Windsor Street and marches to the War Memorial at Euston Place for an open air service. The service starts at approximately 10.50am and ends with a return march at approximately 11.30am.
Royal Leamington Spa Town Council, which owns the memorial, says it runs the service with the district council and the Royal British Legion. A parade of local organisations goes to the memorial ahead of the service, the civic party takes part, and the order of service goes on the town council’s website beforehand with hard copies handed out on the day.
Roads closed in Leamington, 6am to 1pm
| Road | Closed between |
|---|---|
| Euston Place | Hamilton Terrace and Newbold Terrace |
| Parade | Clarendon Avenue and Priory Terrace |
| Newbold Terrace | Parade and Newbold Street |
| Regent Street | Portland Street and Park Street |
| Dormer Place | Parade and Bedford Street |
| Windsor Street | Warwick Street and Regent Street |
| John Street | Windsor Street and Regent Street |
| Windsor Place | Bedford Street and Windsor Street |
There will also be two short stop-and-hold periods at the junction of Regent Street and Bedford Street while the parade crosses.
One oddity on the council’s page: the closures heading reads “Sunday 9th November”, a date carried over from last year. The event itself is listed for 8 November 2026, and that is the day the roads close.
No Sunday market that morning. BID Leamington’s 2026 diary says the autumn and Christmas markets run on the Parade every Sunday from 4 October, with “no market on Remembrance Sunday 8th November”.
Warwick: the procession starts at 9.50am
Warwick’s morning is the longest of the four, and this year it starts earlier than last. From the council’s Warwick services page:
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 9.50am | Procession leaves the Court House for St Mary’s Church, stopping briefly at the War Memorial, for the church service |
| 10.50am | Procession leaves St Mary’s to gather at the War Memorial |
| 11am | Two minutes’ silence and the laying of wreaths |
| 11.15am | Formal parade sets off from Church Street around the town centre |
Roads closed in Warwick on Sunday 8 November
- Northgate Street, 6am to 1.30pm. This shuts the one-way system, closing Church Street, Old Square and New Street with it.
- From 11.15am until the parade has passed: Jury Street (at Castle Street and The Butts), High Street (at West Street and Bowling Green Street), Swan Street (at Brook Street and New Street), Brook Street (at Swan Street), and Market Place between Market Street and Old Square.
The 11.15am wave is the one that catches drivers out. The silence is over, people start to leave, and the roads then shut again for the march past.
Kenilworth: 10.54am at Abbey Hill
The council’s Kenilworth page gives a service at the war memorial at Abbey Hill (CV8 1LS) from 10.54am to 11.35am. Parades come in from Upper Rosemary Hill and Talisman Square beforehand and march back out on the same routes afterwards.
Roads closed 8am to noon: Forest Road (Abbey End to Borrowell Lane), Abbey End (the Island to Forest Road), Southbank Road (Abbey Hill to Station Road) and Abbey Hill (Forest Road to Priory Road). Rolling closures cover Upper Rosemary Hill and Richards Close, and Station Road between Talisman Square and Southbank Road is stop-and-hold only.
Whitnash: church at 10am, memorial at 11am
The Whitnash service is in St Margaret’s Church, Whitnash Road, at 10am, followed by wreath laying at 11am at the memorial outside the church, per the council’s Whitnash page. No road closures are listed. Whitnash Town Council says it puts up a poppy motif at the memorial on the Church Green for Remembrance.
Armistice Day, Wednesday 11 November
In Warwick a short service is held at the war memorial on Church Street from 10.45am to 11.15am, and Church Street is closed from 8am to noon that day, according to the council’s Warwick page. The council lists no Armistice Day event for Leamington, Kenilworth or Whitnash.
Parking and getting there
The Leamington closures take out the Parade, Euston Place and Regent Street, which are the way in to most town centre car parks, so park outside the closed streets and walk in. In Warwick, Northgate Street shuts from 6am and Market Place from 11.15am; West Rock (CV34 4DZ) and Cape Road (CV34 4UN) sit outside the closed streets. In Kenilworth, Abbey End and Forest Road are shut until noon.
Check our parking page for charges and opening hours, and the roadworks and travel page for anything else on the approach roads that weekend.
Every time and road closure above is taken from Warwick District Council’s own event pages, checked on 3 October 2026. Closures can change at short notice, so check the council’s page again the week before.
